Anna Zahonero Xifrè (Hospitalet de Llobregat, 1957) graduated in Biology in 1982, in 1991 she was awarded her Landscape Architecture Masters at the UPC in Barcelona. From 1998 to 2003 she coordinates the Master in landscape architecture (MAP_UPC) and, afterwards, from 2006 to 2009 she is Director of University Master in landscape architecture (MUP_UPC). She works since 1989 in the field of environmental studies and landscape design. In 2006 she founded the company (az) estudisiprojectes de medi ambient i de paisatgeslp. Amongst the relevant awards: first prize in the international competition for designing an ecological corridor in the city of Cerdanyola del Vallès (2011-12), first prize in the competition for the park Can Escandell in Ibiza, (Ibiza 2011), first prize of “Territori de Catalunya” in 2011 for the work “Landscape Catalogues of Girona”. Since 2001 she is associate professor at the Urbanism Department of the UPC and she is founding member of the Centre of Investigation and Landscape Design (CRPP-UPC) of the ETSAB.
The conference is within the Workshop “Ecological networks. Planning through bio-diversity in the urban environment” and is part of the “Focus on Landscape“, a series of meetings open to the public with some landscapers, teachers, students of the Master in Landscape Architecture UPC-ACMA based in Milan, interpreters of the main international experiences: the moment of exchange and discussion of current issues more and more, not only for technicians and professionals but also for the growth of a widespread awareness in society that necessarily share the common heritage of the landscape.
