Gilles Vexlard, Paris (Martigny Les Bains, 1950). He obtained his qualification as DPLG landscapist at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Versailles in 1979 and he is currently teaching there. Together with Laurence Vacherot, he founded the landscape study LATITUTUDE NORTH in 1981, specialised in urban planning, works of conception and accomplishing of large spaces and landscapes, development plans, urban structure and definition, and planning at various levels in different contexts ( sports fields, secondary schools, schools, city gardens). From 1992 to 1998 he was a landscape consultant at the Direction Départementale (DDE) du Nord (59), in 2001 at the Direction Départementale (DDE) de l’Hérault (34) and from 2002 to 2003 for the Mission Littoral (34) – Rhône/Pyrénées Orientales. He has held numerous conferences and round tables at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Paysage de Versailles as well as at other schools. In addition, he has followed the management of theses and supervision of regional training ateliers in engineering (Ponts et Chaussées, Villes), infrastructures, territory and landscape, as well as in urban studies. Some of his acknowledgements: National Landscape Grand Award for the Le Port aux Cerises recreational park in Draveil (Essonne) in 2009, First International Award of Urban Landscape in 2006 for the Rhine Park in Munich, First Prize BDLA (German Landscape Architecture Award) in 2005.
