Ana Kučan, Ljubljana (Ljubljana, 1964). She is a landscape architect and theorist of landscape design with a diploma in landscape architecture from the University of Ljubljana, master degree of MLAUD ‘92 from the GSD at Harvard University and a 1996 PhD from University of Ljubljana. She is as professor at the University of Ljubljana and a cofounder of Studio AKKA, a landscape architecture and urban design office in Slovenia. She was a member of the editorial board of Landscape and Urban Planning (2000 /2002) and of JoLa (2006/2011). She is an editor and co-editor and writes for professional books and magazines. She is a member of the Slovenian Association of Landscape Architects and active in ECLAS and Le:Notre networks. Her work received design awards such as Piranesi and Plečnik award and was published in international publications. As a visiting professor/guest lecturer she has been teaching in Beijing, Zagreb, Hannover, Lisbon, Alnarp, Milan and Sarajevo. She was nominated for the Rosa Barba Award at the 4th Biennale of landscape architecture in Barcelona (2006) and the leading author of the exhibition All Shades of Green, which was presented in the Slovenian pavilion at the 12th International Biennale of Architecture in Venice (2010).
